FAQ

How do you carry out the course?

Once a deposit has been received a start date is set, normally on a Monday. We pick you up from your home or work address every day. Any in car training hours would be during the week, Monday to Friday (3 - 6 hrs per day). The exact daily times are agreed when the driving instructor calls and books you in. If a theory test is required, we can normally book it for you either before or early in the course. The instructor may be able to take you and pick you up from the Theory Test Centre so that you take it after your lesson that day with the instructor. The in car training continues daily to use your hours up, and we get the quickest possible driving test, ideally at the end of your course at your nearest available driving test Centre. The final 90 minutes of all standard driving test courses is for hiring the car to take the driving test using the driving instructor’s vehicle. The DVSA do not provide cars so you will need to use your driving instructor’s vehicle.

How can you get an early date at the end of my course when the list for a driving test in my area is 2 to 3 months away?

We have an administration team who are working away daily to find you an extremely short notice driving test while our instructors are busy teaching. Most driving schools don’t have this system because they are normally only one person teaching during the day, they have very little time to actually access the DVSA booking system or call them.

Are the test fees included in the price?

Yes - all prices we quote include the practical test fees, we book them for you. You can still take on a course if you have already booked a practical test on the DVSA website, we just remove the fees off the total cost.

Do you help with theory revision?

With over a 1000 questions in the theory question database, we recommend a minimum of 35 hours study time which is around 2 minutes per question. We will give you free access to the premium version of the theory test pro website so that you can study online at home or on the go, with your smartphone via the website or app. Our driving instructors will be happy to assist you with the theory in the car if needed. We can go through the more complex questions with you, which will boost your chances of passing the theory test when you take it. It would take us hours to cover everything once so that’s why we give you free access to the revision website.

Can I realistically pass in one week?

Yes! If you have arranged enough practice hours in the week, you pass your theory test and we can get you a test for the Friday and you pass it, then you will have your licence! Sometimes it may take a few days longer as we depend on finding cancellations in your local area, unless you book your driving test on the normal waiting list, well in advance.

What if I fail my theory test?

The driving instructor will continue to train you and get you up to the best possible standard within the hours we have arranged with you that week, we will then either book the theory test for you again, at a cost of £35, for later in the same week (depends on DVSA availability) or the following week. Alternatively, you can rebook it yourself on GOV.UK. When you pass you can contact us so that we can book a practical test for you.If you fail you will have to wait 3 clear working days before you can take another test. The instructor will normally save the final few hours to finish off once the theory is passed if necessary.

What if you cannot get me a test for the end of my course?

Most of our students want a course at extremely short notice (waiting times at most test centres range from 8 to 16 weeks) so we have to work with the DVSA to find you a cancellation at your local test centre, or one reasonably close (with your permission) so you can have some practice hours in that area during the course. If we cannot get you a practical test for Friday then we will offer you the first available slot, which would typically be early the following week. However it falls, you won't be waiting weeks and weeks. Your driving instructor will save a few hours back in order for you to finish up early in the second week. 95% of our courses are done by early the following week if not on the Friday.

If you need a 100% guarantee of a driving test for a Friday the only way this is possible is to pass your theory test first about 3 months before beginning a driving course, then for us (or you) to book a driving test on the official booking website, but you may have to book your course 3 months in advance.

What if I fail the practical test?

No one can predict the outcome of a test result or the road or traffic conditions on the day and time of your test. So, we guarantee to help you until you pass your test.

If you are unlucky or just make one silly error with just a few minor faults then you will be able to rebook with us (call us straight away). The DVSA rules will allow you to sit test only after 10 working days, so you can rebook with us immediately and we will search for a retest as soon as possible on the 10th working day. You probably will only need to arrange a few of hours practice prior to the second test.

If you fail with lots of minor faults or more than one serious or dangerous fault, then it may be necessary for you to evaluate your driving skills. You may need to arrange another few hours to fix these errors in your driving before taking another driving test. Learning to drive is expensive to most people but it’s ridiculously more expensive if you keep going in for test when you are not ready.

I have booked my own test and / or just require weekly lessons leading up to my test, can you help?

Yes we can, please book a course or weekly lessons and let us know your test time and date and we will accommodate it.

Are your instructors fully qualified?

All of our course instructors have qualified as ADI instructors, we will not provide you with a trainee or unqualified instructor. All driving instructors are CRB checked every time they renew their 'green badge' - the licence to teach.

Do I have to pay extra for my test day?

Not for an intensive driving course - the DVSA do not provide cars so you will need to use your instructor’s vehicle, in the final hour of your course. If you are taking an extended test or live far from home, a little more than the last hour would be required for taking the test and taking you home at the end of the course.

How do I go about booking the course and how do I pay?

You can call us for any general enquiries, to book you can BOOK ONLINE 24/7 using the booking form. You can email us a query out of hours too, 24 hours per day to admin@crashcourse.company, or send us a text, we will get back to you as soon as possible. To secure a course we require a deposit before the course begins. Payments are made on the online booking form with a debit or credit card, or paypal; or we can email you an invoice to pay the same way. Please note that debit and credit card payments using paypal have a small admin fee due to paypal transaction fees, although they do provide a safe and secure shopping environment, with the benefit of buyer and seller protection schemes. You can also bank transfer your deposit into our business account with no extra charge.

Are deposits fully refundable?

In the small chance we cannot fulfill your booking, deposits are 100% refundable.

Do you offer a 'guaranteed pass' course, OR free retest?

While no one can predict the outcome of a test result due to varying road, traffic and weather conditions, we guarantee to help you until you pass your test. Anyone who offers this will normally have some terms and conditions attached to this unreal offer. So please check carefully.

We have a good pass rate so most customers wouldn't benefit from a more expensive 'guaranteed pass' type course. If you fail either theory or practical test 1st time we will book you the quickest possible retest so that you can continue your course, but you will pay the test fee.

I've passed my theory test, is it cheaper?

If you have passed your theory test then you will not have to pay the theory test fee (£35). Our prices include the cost of the practical driving test, we just add on £35 if you need us to book you a theory test.
